They say time flies when you’re having fun, but it’s true when you’re busy too. The RWA conference I attended last year was wonderful and I can’t believe it’s time for another. Unfortunately, I won’t be going to Denver this year. I opted to attend the Bouchercon conference in Tampa, Florida this September. What is Bouchercon? It is the World Mystery Convention, the premier annual event for readers, authors, and all lovers of crime fiction.Just to have my name mixed in with the other over 500 authors attending is exciting. Winners of the Anthony awards (one of the prestigious awards for crime fiction) will be announced at the event. Check out the nominees at https://bit.ly/2IEDkEw
Be On the Lookout:
The book I’m working on now is a contemporary mystery set in the exotic and diverse state of Hawaii. I have a completed manuscript and am in the process of updating and editing. The title is HAWAIIAN IVORY. My heroine is Stacie Villa, a business owner, helicopter pilot and amateur sleuth. Stacie believes her father was murdered, but she can’t convince anyone else he was. Not even her naval officer brother or the police will listen to her. To make matters worse, the detective in charge is an old friend who tells her that there is proof her father was mixed up with smuggling artifactsout of Hawaii. Stacie sets out to prove them all wrong putting her friends and herself in danger.
